A leaf-strewn path and grass clearing lead to a still, reflective pond, framed on both sides by tall deciduous trees in green, gold and burnt-orange fall foliage. A single empty wooden bench sits beneath a tree on the right, and a bright clearing glimmers at the horizon beneath a soft, hazy sky.

Diffused daylight filters through the canopy in gentle dapples onto the path and fallen leaves, and shimmering reflections ripple across the water. Directional impasto brush and palette-knife strokes over a visible canvas weave give the foliage and the carpet of leaves a loose, impressionistic texture and a peaceful, nostalgic mood.
