Two child-sized ghosts in draped white sheets with simple black oval eyes sit side by side in a small wooden rowboat. They float at the center of a calm lake, with fallen leaves drifting on the water and dense rust, gold and burnt-orange forest lining both banks.

The light is soft and overcast, and a hazy line of distant trees suggests depth. Gentle ripples carry reflections of the boat, the figures and the foliage, painted in loose brushwork and palette-knife-like strokes with a matte finish and soft edges.
