Each has a triangular nose, almond or teardrop eyes and a wide crescent grin with a few blocky teeth.

Every face glows amber from the candlelight within, warming its own skin while the rest of the scene sinks into soft shadow. A thin vine strung with tiny round fairy lights trails along the tabletop, and dry autumn leaves are scattered around the base. The upper third is left as dark, empty space.

The paint is matte and chalky, with flat-brush dabs, dry-brush scumbling and quick, dark calligraphic strokes for the stems. The result is a quiet, hazy glow that feels spooky but sweet.
