A cluster of round ornaments hangs from fine cords, with one large silver sphere at the centre and smaller gold and silver ones around it. Each is built from dabs of metallic paint, so the highlights and reflections break into patches of white, gold and bronze.

The background is black paint laid on heavily and dragged into ridges and curved swirls. The dark ground makes the metallic surfaces glow, and the picture feels rich, theatrical and tactile.
