Roughly twenty pumpkins in orange, marigold, blush pink, dusty rose and cream are packed edge to edge in overlapping rows, topped with twisted olive-green stems. Small rust and gold maple and oak leaves and sprigs of red and golden berries fill the gaps between them.

The paint is built up in thick palette-knife ridges, each pumpkin made of vertical, ribbed strokes with ragged, feathered edges, set against a rough, plaster-like cream ground. Soft, even light catches the raised ridges, and the chalky, warm palette stays gentle and harmonious.
