A skeleton in a deep indigo hooded robe sits cross-legged on a pink towel, fingers curled in a meditation mudra. A crown of orange, pink and teal flowers rests on its hood. Beside it, a coconut holds a striped straw and a small paper umbrella.

The sea rolls in beneath a sky of peach and lilac clouds, and palm trees lean in from the right. The paint is laid on thickly and in broad strokes, so the sand, waves and clouds all have a sculpted, tactile surface. The result is a funny, tranquil scene that sets a macabre figure in a gentle holiday setting.
