About this work
A hazy harbor emerges from soft blue and gray mist. Masts, cranes and chimneys are only hinted at in thin, hurried strokes, and a few small boats with dark figures drift on the water in the foreground.
The only strong color is the round orange sun and the broken orange reflection beneath it. Against the cool, pearly palette it makes the early morning feel quiet and still.
