Many white seagulls fill a hazy blue sky. Some glide with their wings fully open, others bank and turn, and a few are caught mid-beat. Their pale bodies and grey-tipped wings stand out against the layered clouds behind them.

The sky is painted in soft, dabbed strokes of blue, grey and white, and the canvas weave shows faintly through the paint. The picture feels open and light, with the movement of the flock giving it energy.
