A snow-covered mountainside fills the canvas, modeled in thick white paint that rises into ridges, drifts and curving ski tracks. Small skiers in red, yellow, orange, green and blue are scattered down the slope, each leaning into a turn.

The near-monochrome white ground leaves plenty of quiet space, so the bright figures stand out like small notes of color. Pale blue shadows run along the carved tracks and add a little depth to the snow.
