Inside a weathered iron-and-glass greenhouse, carved pumpkins sit on benches, in pots and along the leaf-strewn floor. Their faces glow orange. Candles burn on the shelves, and dry autumn vines climb the metal frame and hang from the roof.

The panes are fogged and grey, and the glass, ironwork and plants are painted in muted olive, brown and pewter. The pumpkins and candle flames are the only warm colour, so the eye moves from one glowing face to the next down the path.
