About this work
Pink, violet and apricot wildflowers rise in the foreground, with a few butterflies hovering among them. Beyond them a calm lake mirrors the sky and a line of feathery trees, with lily pads scattered across the water.
The paint is laid on in short, textured dabs, and the sky is washed in lavender, peach and pale blue. The mood is soft and hazy, close to a morning by the water.
