Wildflowers in violet, magenta, pink, cobalt and touches of yellow fill the foreground. Behind them, grassy hills roll toward a low, glowing sun. A few small trees sit on the distant ridges.

The sky is the most dramatic part of the picture. Dense purple and blue clouds are laid on in chunky, knife-like strokes, and a band of orange and gold burns beneath them. The warm light on the hills contrasts with the cool, deep shadows among the blooms.
