A small witch, a child in a white sheet ghost costume and a child dressed as a pumpkin walk away from us down a quiet suburban street, each carrying a treat basket. Tall trees in full orange foliage arch overhead, and fallen leaves cover the road and lawns.

Clapboard houses on both sides have warm lamplit windows and porch lights that glow against the dusk. A pale mist softens the far end of the street, giving the scene a nostalgic, storybook feel in rich oil tones.
