About this work
A scattering of hearts hangs from fine vertical threads at different heights. Each is built from broad, layered strokes of paint that leave raised ridges and curved marks inside the shape.
The palette stays within creamy ivory, oatmeal and warm taupe, and the background looks scraped and patchy like old plaster. The heavy texture and restrained colors give the picture a calm, quiet feel.
