A winged dragon dives out of black storm clouds, loosing a column of flame onto a longship whose sail is already burning. Three more ships with pale sails wait on the heaving water, and a small castle sits on a rocky headland to the right.

The palette is almost monochrome, in charcoal, slate and ash, so the orange fire and its glow on the waves carry all the light. Lightning forks through the clouds, and loose, painterly strokes add drama and weight to the sky.
