A character study of five seagulls, each caught in its own pose: standing alert, calling out, sitting, or turning to look back. Their exaggerated, oversized round eyes give every bird a startled, curious expression.

Rounded, soft-bodied silhouettes with folded dusty gray wings and simple webbed orange-gold feet sit on a warm parchment ground, with generous space between the birds. Painted in watercolor on cold-press paper, with loosely bleeding edges, soft pigment blooms and thin linework on the faces, the study has a gentle, lighthearted humor.
