A sleek black cat with wide amber eyes sits at the centre of a rustic tabletop. To its left a carved pumpkin glows from within, beside a plain stemmed goblet. To its right stand a glossy black pitcher and a small cream-coloured ghost.

Orange and gold maple leaves are scattered across the wooden surface and drift through the air. The background is a warm, scraped wash of beige and brown. Thick, buttery strokes and the reflections on the pitcher give the arrangement a cosy, old-fashioned feel.
