Poppy-like blossoms in pale blush pink, dusty terracotta rose, ivory cream and deep burgundy rise from the lower edge to about two-thirds of the way up the frame, then thin into scattered single stems. Slender pale sage stems, buds and wispy grasses thread through the field.

The petals are built up as thick, almost sculptural relief, with palette-knife ridges that catch soft shadow along their edges, while the stems are fine, wire-like strokes. Above the flowers, an airy greige background with a matte canvas grain leaves open space, for a romantic, serene and nostalgic feel.
