A calm river curves through a snowy valley and reflects the pale sky in its icy water. Dark green spruces weighed down with snow frame both sides. Beyond them, a jagged mountain range catches a faint blush of pink light at its peaks.

The painting looks like an old studio canvas. A fine web of crackle runs across the clouded sky and the snowfields, and the palette stays in soft greys, creams and deep evergreen. The scene feels still and cold, with a gentle hush.
