About this work
A minimalist mummy peeks out from loosely wrapped bandage strips painted in cream and sand tan, which sweep across the whole canvas on a gentle diagonal. One narrow, pointed gap just left of center holds two round white eyes with tiny black dot pupils, looking slightly aside for a funny, startled expression. A few small dark slivers appear near the far right edge and lower left.
The wrappings read as flat painted shapes rather than modeled cloth, lit by soft, even light. Thick matte acrylic or gouache is laid down in broad flat-brush strokes with dry, feathered edges over a fine grainy tooth, giving a calm, handmade finish with generous quiet space around the gap.
