More than ten minimalist ghosts stand shoulder to shoulder in a tightly packed row, each a draped-sheet silhouette tapering to a point with two small dark oval eyes. One central ghost holds a single small jack-o'-lantern at chest height, its carved triangle eyes and jagged-tooth grin facing out at the viewer.

Heavy palette-knife strokes leave pronounced ridges, drag marks and built-up edges, so the figures read almost as sculpture against the thinner, smoother wash of the background. A thin dark ground line anchors the crowd at the bottom edge.
