Two simplified ghosts in white sheets carrying pumpkin baskets and two witches in black robes and pointed hats walk up a garden path flanked by a symmetrical white picket fence. The path recedes toward a small dark-roofed cottage partly screened by golden-leaved trees, its windows glowing gently. Glowing jack-o'-lanterns dot the garden beds and fence line, a loose scatter of small dark birds crosses the sky, and hazy hills fade in the distance.

The naive folk style uses flat, simplified silhouettes and loose, dabbed foliage strokes on aged canvas, with a visible weave and a fine all-over crackle in the sky. Muted golden olive, sage green, terracotta and parchment cream sit under soft, diffused overcast light.
