About this work
A dark grey bat with its wings spread wide sits at the centre of a field of terracotta orange. Its outline is simple and slightly ragged, with small ears at the top.
The whole surface is built from thick, directional strokes of paint that leave ridges and small pits. The two-colour palette is bold and spare.
