A cloaked rider in a long black coat and wide flat-brimmed hat sits astride a near-black horse, walking left in flat side profile. Where a head would be, a single carved jack-o'-lantern with a triangle-eyed grin glows from within, its stem showing on top; the rider loosely holds the reins with one visible hand.

Both horse and rider are built from angular, faceted, low-poly-like planes, reading as smooth, matte silhouettes against a smoky, softly blended backdrop in a palette of muted olive green, near-black and pumpkin orange. The pumpkin's warm inner glow is the only true light in the scene, giving this quiet, eerie, gently melancholic folk painting its focal point.
