About this work
A small, whimsical group sits low in the frame: a sheet ghost with two oval eyes, a black cat lying calmly with pale yellow-green eyes, and a ribbed orange pumpkin with a curling stem.
Soft window light casts gentle shadows across a plain linen-toned ground. The ghost's sheet is built from thick, sculptural impasto, while the pumpkin and cat are painted with looser, softer strokes, leaving generous quiet space around them.
