About this work
A little sheet ghost stands among rust-red and amber foliage while a black cat sits on the crest of the hill, looking out toward the viewer. A thin golden crescent moon hangs in a twilight sky that shifts from dusty slate blue to soft salmon peach.
The scene is painted like oil on linen, with loose impasto dabs in the autumn grasses and softly blended clouds above. The muted, warm palette gives it a gently spooky, nostalgic and cozy mood.
