About this work
A gently spooky tabletop still life: a bedsheet ghost with two round black eyes, a plump pumpkin and a glossy black cat with amber eyes sit side by side, while a single candle burns in an antique brass holder.
The warm candlelight pools over thick, buttery strokes of cream and orange paint against a dark, faded damask wall of rusty flowers. The mood is cozy, nostalgic and playful rather than frightening, like an old autumn painting found in an attic.
