A dense tangle of wildflowers fills the canvas. Mustard-gold blooms, dusty pink clusters and creamy white blossoms stand out against deep green and slate shadows. Dark burgundy accents sit among the leaves, and small flecks of paint spatter across the surface.

The paint is laid on thickly with a palette knife and broad brushes, so petals and leaves read as raised ridges of colour. The light is dim and the mood is quiet and romantic. It feels like an old garden seen at dusk.
