A rabbit looks straight out of the picture with dark, glossy eyes and long upright ears lined in warm amber. It holds a vivid orange carrot with feathery green leaves against its chest.

The fur is built from chunky, sculptural strokes of cream, peach and tan, set against a weathered grey background with visible scrapes and streaks. The heavy impasto texture gives the portrait a rustic, tactile charm.
