Four owls of different sizes stand side by side, cropped at the bottom edge. Each has a solid black head with pointed ear tufts, large round white eyes and a small cream beak. Their chests are patterned with a lattice of white diamonds.

The saturated poppy-red background has a fine woven, linen-like texture. The limited palette of red, black and ivory, together with the rough-edged shapes, gives the picture the look of a mid-century block print.
