About this work
Santa, in a dusty burgundy coat and carrying a glowing brass lantern, leads a quiet procession across a snowy meadow. A pale reindeer in an evergreen wreath draws a small wooden wagon heaped with a fir tree and wrapped presents, while a badger, a scarfed fox and a white rabbit with a red stocking follow along.
Snow-laden birches and pines frame the scene, and a distant cottage glows with warm windows beneath a few small gold stars. Fine pen-and-ink linework and soft colored-pencil and watercolor washes on aged cream paper give it the hushed, nostalgic feel of a vintage storybook page.
