Rows of small white ghosts crowd the lower part of a warm taupe canvas, overlapping one another in different sizes. Each has two glossy black oval eyes and a softly draped, wavering outline.

The paint is troweled on in thick ridges and smooth, dragged strokes, so the ghosts look almost like icing and the background shows raised cracks and scrapes. The limited palette of cream, white and mushroom brown keeps the mood playful and quiet.
