A crowd of wildflowers fills the lower two thirds of the canvas. Poppy-like orange blooms, plum and violet petals, dusty roses and mustard-yellow flowers rise on slender stems. Each petal is a raised dab of paint with a visible ridge.

Above them the sky is dragged and scumbled in pale blues and whites, with cloud shapes that blur into the brushwork. Deep teal and green strokes at the base anchor the scene. The overall feel is loose, tactile and fresh.
