In a woodland clearing, an adult in a dark jacket and bobble hat lifts the head onto a tall snowman while a small child reaches up beside them. Dark evergreens heavy with snow and a pair of white birches frame the scene, and the pale forest fades into a soft grey sky behind.

The snow is laid on in thick, buttery strokes of cream, grey and blue-white. Their dark, earthy clothing stands out against it. The painting is full of playfulness and quiet winter pleasure.
