About this work
Two clusters of raised, plaster-like petals in ivory and cream sit on either side of a soft, brushed field of grey and taupe. The thick paint forms layered, curling shapes that read as flowers without becoming literal.
Thin drips run down from the blooms into the pale ground, and feathery brushwork blurs the background into a cloudy haze. The restrained neutral palette and strong texture give the piece a calm, contemporary feel.
