About this work
A still pond winds through a late-autumn marsh toward distant blue hills, edged with golden reeds, cattails and trees turning rust and orange. Two waterfowl float on the quiet water while a pair of ducks cross the pearly sky.
The light is soft and diffused, the palette dusty and muted. Loose brushwork and visible linen canvas grain give it the feel of a traditional plein-air oil landscape.
