Three small ghosts, plain pale sheet shapes with two dark dot eyes, stand together in tall grass dotted with wildflowers. Beyond them the meadow opens into a hazy middle distance, framed by birch and deciduous trees in rust-orange and gold.

Soft, overcast light and rolling mist blur the line between foreground and background, gently muting the distant trees. The brushwork is loose and visible, with blended color in the fog and rougher drybrush strokes in the grass and foliage.
