About this work
Six or seven wide, slightly diagonal cream bandage strips cross a black field, overlapping and leaving thin, tapering gaps of dark between them. Through one narrow gap, two large round ivory eyes with small black pupils peek out, centered just above the middle.
The shapes are bold and graphic, with rough, slightly torn edges and a hand-printed, linocut feel. Faint dry-brush streaks and speckled grain give the cream and black a chalky, matte finish, and the mood is playful and spooky-cute.
