About this work
A single snow-white peak rises to a sharp point in the middle of the frame. Soft grey shadows fall across its faces in clean, geometric shapes. Above it the sky is a flat, intense blue with no clouds.
Two dozen or so tiny skiers, mostly in red with a few in charcoal, are scattered down the slope. They give the vast, simple form a sense of scale and movement. The flat colour and crisp edges recall a mid-century travel poster.
