About this work
Tall, slender birch trunks stand in an autumn forest, their canopies built from chunky rust-red and burnt-orange leaves. A pale golden light glows through the mist at the center, softening the more distant trees into hazy silhouettes.
The scene reads as an oil painting with thick palette-knife impasto in the foliage and thin, softly brushed layers in the fog. Warm terracotta undergrowth covers the forest floor, and dusty lavender-gray tones add a cool counterpoint, giving the whole picture a calm, nostalgic mood.
