A single billowing cloud glows against a dark, nearly black background. Its upper domes are bright ivory. Toward the base it turns to amber and soft brown, as if lit from one side by a low sun.

The paint is thick and swirling in the cloud and thin and smooth in the dark surround. This contrast gives the cloud a sculptural, dramatic presence and leaves the empty space around it quiet.
