About this work
A symmetrical row of Colonial townhouses stands at dusk, with gabled dormers, paned windows and columned entryways, each window lit warm from within. Two large autumn trees with dense rust-red foliage bookend the left and right edges, and a thin crescent moon hangs above a few small silhouetted bats.
Front gardens hold jack-o'-lanterns and dried hydrangeas behind wrought-iron and white picket fencing, a small black cat walks the path, and fallen leaves scatter the sidewalk and street. Cool dusty blue light sets off the amber glow, painted in flat, loose strokes with soft edges and a matte, folk-art finish.
