Two weathered wooden casement windows swing open onto a blooming spring garden. A sandy path winds between beds of red, pink, orange and purple tulips and clusters of yellow daffodils. Trees heavy with pink and white blossom rise on either side and recede toward a soft, hazy distance.

The paint is laid on thickly, with visible brush and palette-knife marks in the petals, the path and the streaky clouds. The light is bright and fresh, and the pastel sky and saturated flowers give the view a cheerful, welcoming feel.
