About this work
A lone evergreen tree is painted in soft, translucent watercolor washes, its ragged tiers shading from dusty fir green to a deeper forest tone. Tiny gold ornaments and clusters of faded red berries are scattered through the boughs, with a small gold star at the crown.
Behind it, hand-painted sage green stripes run edge to edge, slightly wobbly and uneven like real brushwork. Cold-press paper grain shows through the washes, and the quiet cream-and-green palette gives the scene a gentle, nostalgic holiday calm.
