Terracotta pots overflow with flowers around the faded green door of a small shop: sunflowers, blue hydrangeas and lavender on a wooden stand at left, peach and white roses at right, and tulips, yellow roses and daisies along the step.

The brushwork is thick and buttery, and sunlight breaks across the pale plaster wall and the cobbles. Louvered shutters and a glass door that faintly reflects more blooms inside give the scene a warm, lived-in feel.
