A narrow pale path curves through tall green grass, and coral-red poppies and small white daisies crowd both sides. In the distance a few trees stand on the flat horizon, and the sky is full of soft cream and blue clouds.

The brushwork is loose and painterly. The flowers are dabs of colour, and the grass is built from layered olive and sage strokes. The warm light and open space make the scene feel peaceful and unhurried.
