About this work
Two empty ski-lift chairs hang from cables that run toward a vanishing point in the fog. Heavy snow weighs down the spruce trees on both sides, and a faint ridge shows through the haze beyond.
The scene is almost colorless, in soft whites and graphite grays. The symmetry and the empty slope make it feel still and a little solitary, like the pause before the lifts start moving.
